چکیده
Atomic cascades are ubiquitous in nature and they have been explored within very different scenarios, from precision measurements to the modeling of astrophysical spectra, up radiation damage biological matter. However, present, a quantitative analysis these often failed because their inherent complexity. Apart utilizing rotational symmetry atoms proper distinction physical schemes, hierarchy useful approaches is therefore needed order keep cascade computations feasible. We here suggest classification atomic demonstrate how can be modeled framework Jena Calculator. As an example, we shall compute configuration-average approach stepwise decay magnesium, following 1s inner-shell ionization, simulate corresponding (final) ion distribution. Our scenarios (schemes) computational both flexible further refinements as well complex shell structures ions, for which excitation dynamics need good detail.

Coupled-cluster computations of atomic nuclei.
In the past decade, coupled-cluster theory has seen a renaissance in nuclear physics, with computations of neutron-rich and medium-mass nuclei. The method is efficient for nuclei with product-state references, and it describes many aspects of weakly bound and unbound nuclei. This report reviews the technical and conceptual developments of this method in nuclear physics, and the results of coupl...
متن کاملQuantum telecommunication based on atomic cascade transitions.
A quantum repeater at telecommunications wavelengths with long-lived atomic memory is proposed, and its critical elements are experimentally demonstrated using a cold atomic ensemble. Via atomic cascade emission, an entangled pair of 1.53 microm and 780 nm photons is generated. The former is ideal for long-distance quantum communication, and the latter is naturally suited for mapping to a long-...
متن کاملPetascale computations for Large-scale Atomic and Molecular collisions
Petaflop architectures are currently being utilized efficiently to perform large scale computations in Atomic, Molecular and Optical Collisions. We solve the Schrödinger or Dirac equation for the appropriate collision problem using the R-matrix or R-matrix with pseudo-states approach. We briefly outline the parallel methodology used and implemented for the current suite of Breit-Pauli and DARC ...
متن کاملA model of atomic vacancy-cascade for nuclear science
Unstable atomic nuclei release excess energy through various radioactive decay processes. In some cases, including internal conversion and electron capture, the atom remains ionised after the nuclear decay event. Atomic relaxation back to the ground state occurs rapidly via radiative and non-radiative processes, often referred to collectively as atomic radiations. Non-radiative processes includ...
متن کاملBell’s theorem, quantum mechanical non-locality and atomic cascade photons
Bell’s theorem of 1965 is a proof that all realistic interpretations of quantum mechanics must be non-local. Bell’s theorem consists of two parts: first a correlation inequality is derived that must be satisfied by all local realistic theories; second it is demonstrated that quantum mechanical probabilities violate this inequality in certain cases. In the case of ideal experiments, Bell’s theor...
